Places People Play is a £135m initiative that will bring the inspiration and courage to the home Olympic Games and Paralympic Games into the heart of local communities

what they are trying to do here is bring people together to support the home nation and to inspire people.
Part of Places People Play, Sport England’s programme to deliver a London 2012 legacy of increased mass participation in sport, it is investing £50 million of National Lottery funding in up to 1000 community sports projects between 2011 and 2014.
Protecting Playing Fields
Playing fields are vital to a vibrant grassroots sports environment, and this programme will enhance the role Sport England already plays in protecting playing fields, by securing the future of many sites for a minimum of 25 years, and helping communities realize the sporting benefits of playing field land.
Budget

The Sport Makers programme, funded by the National Lottery, will recruit tens of thousands of new sports volunteers aged 16 years and over to organise and lead community sporting activities across the country.

sport makers are the people who create sport and some people create the sport that they like or create a new and different sport. and some people within the sport wont take part but will be organising the sport and make sure it happens.
whoever is a sports maker will be invited by thier country sports partnership (csp) they do this because they want the sports makers to inspire people to get involved in sport around there area. and then they will create a sport that will suit the people in there area to increase the participation in the sports they have created.
Outcomes
Sport Makers will ensure that:The Olympic and Paralympic values are brought to the sport makers through there workshorp so it makes them feel like they are apart of the olympic preparation. And put these values into action and get people to participate in there sport.
Sport England will invest in a small number of strategic multi-sport facility projects that will significantly contribute to an increase in mass participation in sport across England
